Plot holes are in just about all movies ever made, and some are more memorable than others. Even the best movies of all time have at least one moment that caused fans to question the integrity of the storyline. Since plot holes will always exist, movie fans expect to find them. They rarely will ever ruin an entire movie storyline to the point where the film will bomb on the big screen, but when they do, fans never forget.
Film creators spend many hours, before and after filming, cleaning up the story and making sure the film has a linear flow that gives the audience a much-needed payoff at its conclusion. A movie plot hole does not always have to be a terrible thing either. For example, just about every one of the Marvel movies, the Dark Knight movies, Star Wars films, Harry Potter movies, and even the Toy Story franchise has at least one plot hole. But we still want to watch them anyways.
When it comes to pop culture, we tend to enjoy imperfection the same way we watch Jedidiah talk about crop circles or boarding the alien mothership… because it is entertaining.
Movie plot holes
A movie plot hole is a gap or inconsistency in a story's plot that goes against the established logic or continuity of the narrative. Every story has at least one plot hole if you dig deep enough. Most fans can spend months binge-watching every single film ever made and comb through the whole plot only to discover that the same problem exists in all films, even the great movies.
While major plot holes can be frustrating for audiences who become invested in a movie's storyline, they can also be a source of entertainment and discussion. Fans love to talk about and dissect the reasons behind a glaring plot hole. So regardless if it is from bad writing, a genuine mistake, or even just a creative choice, plot holes will always exist on the big screen. From blockbuster films such as Avengers: Infinity War and Star Wars: Episode IV to The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Tomb Raider, even the best movies have plot holes.
