Is This a Real or Fake Episode of Malcolm in the Middle?
      Television

By BrainFall Staff - Published: August 11, 2024

Malcolm in the Middle is warmly remembered today as one of the 2000s best sitcoms! As the name implies, the middle kid of a large family, Malcolm, has to get through his pre-teen and teenage years.

In the pilot episode, Malcolm discovers that he is a genius and ends up in a gifted class. But the other family members are just as important to the show, with his brothers Francis, Reese, Dewey, and Jamie all taking on ever larger roles.

And for many, Malcolm’s parents, the aloof Hal and angry Lois, are the true stars of the show, thanks to the actors’ chemistry and impeccable comic timing!

Anyone who grew up in an eccentric family can relate to the misadventures of Malcolm in the Middle. But how easy is it to spot a real episode from a fake episode? After all, there are 151 episodes.

It’s incredibly difficult to remember them all! If you think your knowledge of the show is strong enough, then take this quiz.

      Malcolm in the Middle

At the start of Malcolm in the Middle, Malcolm is, quite suitably, in middle school. His eldest brother, Francis, is in Military School, and the parents are working dead-end jobs.

In the final episode, Malcolm heads off to college. Francis is married but in a dead-end job, as are the parents. Over the course of seven seasons, every character in the show grows and changes.

For example, the earlier seasons of the show portray Lois as a screaming control freak. In later seasons, she still shouts a lot but is able to relate to her growing children and reveal her emotions more strongly.

Over the show's run, the whole family suffers a lot, with financial constraints and societal pressures constantly keeping them from succeeding. Malcolm dreads his circumstances but often makes it work.

All in all, it is an amazing show. See if you can work out which are the real and fake episodes ahead!
