Floating through life, not really paying attention, and not realizing what’s in front of your face is something an oblivious person does. Oblivious people are probably some of the happiest people because they don’t really grasp what’s happening around them!
Not everyone is oblivious. There are plenty of people who are hyper-aware. But those with tunnel vision can kind of coast through life, enjoying their own emotions.
Oblivious people miss out on social cues and aren’t great at listening to a friend talking. They could be buried in their cell phone and not see something happening around them.
Most people are probably somewhere between not oblivious and oblivious. Their body language is there, but is their brain? Not always, but sometimes.
How oblivious do you think you are? Do you realize you’re about to take a quiz?
How oblivious are you? That's the question we are posing here. Most people are not fully oblivious. Most will realize when friends are having a conversation and want to hear it and chime in.
Others are just on their own little island, thinking about something else entirely. They are unaware of their surroundings and don't happen to notice people doing things for them.
The little bit they pay attention to is likely their cell phone or a book. They are disengaging from the world around them and they don't have any idea what's going on.
An oblivious person has a sense of urgency for certain things that have to do only with them, such as how they are feeling and how a situation will affect them. They don't get to the point of considering how something will affect someone else.
They are often unaware of just how oblivious they are. They live in a fairytale land. Someone who is oblivious may miss something obvious, such as someone speaking to them. But they will often feel good, no matter what is going on around them.
