How Spontaneous Are You?
Do you love jumping out of your comfort zone? If you’re someone that likes to shake things up, you probably are known by your friends as someone who has a lot of fun in life. You may not have all the answers, but they aren’t actually something that you seek out before you make a decision. You love to live in the moment and do things that are unexpected. You’re spontaneous. You can even surprise yourself by making bold choices in the world. People who are spontaneous live with a sense of freedom.
They aren’t bogged down by responsibilities, or even if they are, they don’t think about them much before they do something. You probably have a friend that is willing to go along with you on each spontaneous journey. Or, maybe you are that friend that gets dragged on those journeys. Spontaneity can lead to avoiding fears or taking each fear and squashing it. Maybe you’re someone who loves going wherever the wind takes you. Or, maybe, you’re a bit more of a planner. Being spontaneous means that you are willing to do things on a whim. You don't run scenarios through your head before you do something. Whether you're taking a spontaneous vacation to an exotic island when you don't really have the money or you just head out to the bar for a night out, you have fun with what you're doing. If you're wondering if you're possibly spontaneous, you probably aren't. People will let you know when you're acting that way. Some people become spontaneous as a child. For others, it takes a long time to develop that trait.
You can create the trait by just letting go of your inhibitions and preconceived notions. People can also change their past by working on a whim. People who are spontaneous don't spend much time planning. They fail to control the emotions that might tell them to not do something. This isn't always a bad thing, as some spontaneity can deliver the best times you weren't expecting. If you've been in a scenario you created by acting on a whim and it worked out, you'll likely want to act that way more often. Following the rules and spontaneity don't mix.
