During his rookie season, Eric Dickerson became the only rookie running back in NFL history to rush for 1,808 yards and 18 touchdowns. As far as outstanding rookie seasons go, his was easily the greatest ever by a running back. He is one of many NFL players that have produced amazing performances and broken countless records over the years. One is Aaron Rodgers, who may or may not retire after his serious injury. Besides the records broken on the field, many NFL players own records off the field as the smartest, tallest, smallest, heaviest, and so on.
Thanks to Pro Football Focus grading players’ performances since 2007, we now have a database of highest-graded players that get a score based on certain metrics for their position, like run-blocking grade, pass-blocking grade, elite arm talent, perfectly accurate passes rate, pass rush win rate, or pass-rush grade.
Whether they are an interior defensive linemen, top graded rookie, off-ball linebacker, big-bodied edge defender, offensive tackle, or the most targeted tight end, we found all the best performances, greatest talents, and top grades ever and turned it into a quiz for your enjoyment.
NFL player
Every NFL player is graded on every performance, every season, by Pro Football Focus. PFF keeps track of every single detail of an NFL player's performance. They can tell you who the highest-graded veterans are every season while also breaking down which defensive tackle, or defensive lineman, has incredible body control. They give out well-rounded grades on young quarterbacks, break down every rookie split you can imagine, and even tell you which fourth-round pick had a better regular-season PFF grade than any fourth-year veteran.
They are obsessed with each rookies' grade and are able to produce data proving, for example, if a rookie tight end had a solid season, or a nice rookie season, compared to other tight ends using their tight end rankings. Their grades only help add to the obsession of NFL fans for knowing who the best NFL player was at any given moment.
