How Well Do You Know Guns N’ Roses?
Today’s quiz packs a literal blast from the past. The weapons of choice? Guns N’ Roses. The deadly, dichotomic duo took the rock world by storm when Appetite For Destruction brought the debauchery of the Sunset Strip to every unsuspecting backdoor and boombox on Main Street.
Much has changed since those days of President Reagan and actual music videos dominating the television screen. If you were air-guitaring that famous “Sweet Child O’ Mine” solo at the time, you’ll be emulating Axl Rose’s snake dance by the end of this. If Dionysus robbed your memory of the decade, you’re not alone. Maybe a reminder of Slash riffs or Axl Rose screeches is all you need to know where you are. If you weren’t around, learn or teach us about being born to the wrong generation.
You don’t need to be in a jungle to take this quiz. Watch out for the deceptive options regarding the band and the music behind it!
Guns N' Roses
Guns N' Roses is one of the most famous '80s rock bands. The band's 1988 debut album, Appetite for Destruction, remains the best-selling debut album of all time, spawning signature staples like "Welcome to the Jungle," "Paradise City," and "Sweet Child O' Mine." Dominance and decadence carried into the next decade. "November Rain" has the most views of any pure rock song on Youtube.
Axl Rose fronts the band and is the sole constant. Slash's fiery blues doodle over Axl's raspy resonance as the easily recognized lead guitarist. Richard Fortus supplements Slash's lead as the rhythm guitarist and occasional co-lead. Duff Mckagan plays bass. Frank Ferrer completes the groove section with timely drumming. Dizzy Reed completes the group on keyboards. Melissa Reese provides versatile services as a new touring member. Former members include thunderous drummer Steven Adler, fellow tenured drummer Matt Sorum, and longtime guitarist lyricist and singer Izzy Stradlin.
