Elle Woods was the character that Reese played, and she decided to attend Harvard Law School in order to follow her ex-boyfriend, Warner Huntington III (played by Matthew Davis), to hopefully win him back. The sorority queen is dumped by her boyfriend for not being serious enough. So, Woods decides to follow him to law school. The film also stars Jennifer Coolidge as Paulette, Luke Wilson as Emmett Richmond, Selma Blair as Vivian Kensington, Victor Garber as Professor Callahan, Holland Taylor as Professor Stromwell, Ali Larter as Brooke Taylor Windham, and more.
The film was a success, grossing $141.7 million worldwide. The Legally Blonde movie franchise started as the first movie saw Woods going to Harvard Law and the second movie saw her work in Washington D.C. A supposed third film is in the works, and there was even a Broadway musical. The iconic Bend and Snap scene is frequently quoted on ways to pick up a new suitor.
