Mod Squad Cast
The Mod Squad was a television show that aired on ABC in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It's credited as being one of the first TV shows about hippie culture. The show follows three young hippies who were arrested for different crimes. But instead of being incarcerated, they were offered the chance to work as undercover cops. The squad's captain, Adam Greer, hoped the three young people would be able to get closer to the 'counterculture' criminals they were pursuing. For example, in one episode the squad infiltrated an acting class to try to search for a murderer.
The main trio on the show is Pete Cochran (played by Michael Cole), Julie Barnes (played by Peggy Lipton), and Linc Hayes (played by Clarence Williams III). Tige Andrews also stars as Capt. Adam Greer, who worked as the trio's police captain. The series' release date was September 24, 1968, and the last episode aired on March 1, 1973.
