Succession is a series created by Jesse Armstrong on HBO. It's a comedy-drama about the Roy family, the owners of Waystar Royco. It stars Brian Cox as Logan Roy, the patriarch of the family who must decide which of his family members is fit to succeed him as chairman of the company. The Roy children are fighting out who will be Logan's heir apparent. Logan's son, Kendall Roy, is played by Jeremy Strong and is considered the top choice at the beginning. But things take a turn and the other characters want the power. It also stars Sarah Snook as Shiv Roy, Matthew Macfadyen as Tom Wambsgans, Nicholas Braun as Cousin Greg, Kieran Culkin as Roman Roy, Alan Ruck as Connor Roy, Hiam Abbass as Marcia Roy, Peter Friedman as Frank Vernon, and J. Smith Cameron as Gerri Kellman.
The show won the Best Drama Series Emmy and Golden Globe Awards in 2020 and 2022. Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong have each won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama, and Sarah Snook has won Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes. Strong and Matthew Macfadyen have won Primetime Emmys for their roles. Jesse Armstrong has won multiple writing awards for Succession.
