Saved by the Bell was a spin-off of a canceled Disney channel series called Good Morning, Miss Bliss. It starred Mark Paul Gosselaar as Zack Morris while also featuring Screech, played by the late Dustin Diamond, and Lisa Turtle played by Lark Voorhies. Dennis Haskins, who played Mr. Belding, was also on the show. NBC President Brandon Tartikoff picked it up, revamped the show, and even added Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano). They also moved them to California where they would attend Bayside High School.
Saved by the Bell gave high school kids in the 90s something they can relate to long before the internet and social media. The series quickly became an instant classic and was recently brought back to television, bringing back some of the original cast.
