The Chronicles of Narnia books were written by Clive Staples Lewis (C.S. Lewis), and there are seven books in the series. The books are The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Magician's Nephew, and The Last Battle. These books were published over the span of six years in the 1950s, and they still stand up as some of the most fun and adventurous children's books in English literature. Many of the books are about how the four Pevensie children can help save Narnia from different villains and evils. The other books follow either Jill Pole or Eustace Scrubb.
The titular lion in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is Aslan. He's a talking lion, and he's the only character to appear in all seven books. C.S. Lewis is seen as one of the most influential writers of the 20th Century because of his entries into the fantasy genre. The Narnia series is mostly based either on Earth or in the magical world of Narnia. The books are set around the time of World War II. Each Narnia book features talking animals, and the first three books have been made into films. The third film has been the last one so far, based on the ship Dawn Treader. These books are for adults and children.
