The Fairly Oddparents
The Fairly Oddparents was a TV series that aired on Nickelodeon for 10 seasons. It is Nickelodeon's second-longest-running cartoon behind Spongebob Squarepants. The Fairly Oddparents is about Timmy Turner, a young boy who received two fairy godparents because Timmy's parents were neglectful. The show's main cast included Tara Strong, Carlos Alazraqui, Daran Norris, Susanne Blakeless, and Grey DeLisle.
The Fairly Oddparents' first season set up the premise, which is that Timmy Turner is given two fairy godparents, and every time Timmy wishes for something, his fairy godparents will grant it to him. But it doesn't always work out well, and Timmy has to take their services and fix up his life, one measure at a time.
The show took a one-year hiatus after 2006 and resumed production in 2007. After that season, which was season six, the company ordered 20 more episode slots for the seventh season. The season episodes are all half hour in length. There were also three TV movies filmed, including A Fairly Odd Movie. There were even crossover episodes with Jimmy Neutron like the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour.
A live-action reboot aired on Paramount+ in 2022. Besides being live-action, other notable differences between that and the cartoon were that Butch Hartman didn't develop this and the Crimson Chin doesn't make an appearance. The Fairly Oddparents remains one of the most enjoyable Nickelodeon cartoons for kids.
