The Warriors novel series is a collection of books spanning seven sub-series. The series debuted in 2003 and features over 60 books. The universe centers around cats living in clans in the forest, with the Thunderclan living in the woods, the WindClan living in the open grasslands, the RiverClan living by the river, the ShadowClan living near the swamps, and the SkyClan, which fleed their area.
StarClan is a group of spirits of the Clan's deceased ancestors who provide spiritual guidance to the living clans. Cats of the Dark Forest are cats who have died but did harm during their life and are banished to "The Place of No Stars."
There are cats who aren't a part of a clan and they are either known as housecats, loners, rogues. Those groups can break off into separate clans as well. There are many characters across the multiple series. Some of the main characters in the series include Squirrelflight, Firestar, and Tigerstar.
