One Piece Characters
The One Piece manga series is written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, and it debuted in 1997. Since then, it has grown into one of the longest-running and most popular media franchises of all time. In 2015, it set a Guinness World Record for the "most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author." It tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy with special powers who, along with his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, explores the world for a rare treasure known as the "One Piece." By getting the "One Piece," he would be named the next King of the Pirates. The world where Monkey D. Luffy lives is covered by two vast oceans and a mountain range called the Red Line.
The series has spawned films, anime series, OVA, video games, and television specials. All the characters are trying to figure out the name of the King of the Pirates while waiting for it to be revealed. Searching the world for the "One Piece" leads to the Straw Hat Pirates meeting various characters across species, such as man, fish-men, merfolk, dwarves, minks, and giants. The number of members of Monkey D. Luffy's crew grows as the series goes on.
