Sense of Humor
Sense of humor (alternatively written as humour) is one of the key aspects of an individual's personality. A sense of humor is shaped through personal and/or professional experiences, environments, social interactions, personal relationships with romantic partners, family, close friends, and comedy itself. Self-defeating humor or a lighthearted attitude often arises as a response to difficult situations. However, it's important to note that humor can be a mask for one's true psychological well-being. Research suggests that aggressive humor, overly dark humor, or a self-deprecating sense of humor might be a sign that someone has an injured emotional well-being or lack of self-acceptance.
A good sense of humor is subjective. Making jokes requires a sharp awareness of individual differences among the audience, as well as a sense of place and time. One of the social benefits of today's widespread filtering of arcane joke material is that disguised attacks against marginalized groups are no laughing matter. People tend to focus on good humor and berate those that poke fun at races, religions, orientations, disabilities, mental health, abuse, and other empathetic subjects affecting lives. In some cases, careers are canceled for offensive joking.
